Bring a valid, unexpired form of ID, ensure your documents are ready, and choose a nearby location like a coffee shop, restaurant, or office lobby for a smooth notary experience.

Question 6: What forms of ID are accepted for notarization?

We accept non-expired government-issued photo IDs such as a driver’s license, U.S. passport, state ID, or U.S. military ID. We also accept a driver's license or ID card issued in Mexico or Canada, a foreign passport with a stamp from the Citizenship and Immigration Services, or an inmate identification issued by the Texas Department of Corrections (TDC) for incarcerated signers for all notarizations, both online and in-person. Please note: Only valid, non-expired Identification with a photograph, a physical description, and a signature is acceptable.
